Rembrandt was a great painter, but it seem to be that most of his facial expression in his self portrait where almost the same. No matter what time, year, pigment used his expression was sighted in a negative way. Even through his earliest dated picture of himself was in prime youth. It didn’t showy kind of true passion. I feel as thought it may be because he just start creation at such a late age when most artist begin early in their tattler years, but I’m being to hard on this so call great Dutch painter. Don’t gat me wrong I do love his skill in painting, it simply classic. It just that I want see some study’s that varies. I hope this man wasn’t afraid to expressive his self any others kind of expression in art, but then again this was a form of popular art back in the 19th century and now what we call Classical or Neoclassic art. So, I guess that he was on a different level already.


I had view many of this genius work of art. Many have view many of his portraits and just to see him age right in front of my eye. It was sad, but beautiful in away I can’t explain. His color use in tones, value, shadow, and light were strange. The reason why I stated that was because from what I saw in his portrait he had a term and /or pattern of usage of color and form. The pattern that I’m refereeing to is not the pattern that we use, but a self created pattern that of his own. The pattern was simply, but it was there. It was the light.

Being afraid to create something because it was different and not know back then, be more expressive with his color choose. For this man to have created over 300 painting’s that varied from landscapes, animals, self portraits, and genre scene of portraits. This man had more then just time on his hands. He had a vision to create and express what he loved” ART”.

One of my favorite paintings of his is above. I love this painting because it something that I try to express and/ or show through selected areas in my paintings. Rembrandt is a master I tones and light. There would be many art student tat would have to study this man paintings even if hey don’t want to.

The last thing that I began to notice about this man work was that the changes that he face. The changes of painting yourself in the process of dating through old age had to be hard. This man hard life from what I read about him, but he progress through out his career. I wouldn’t have done the same as this man, but in some ways I may have. It’s all most like he already new what his approach was in his master work of art. He was truly a master for all the level of work of art these men create.
